After a first round bye, the Bishop’s Knights started their CIF run with a quarterfinal match against University City.  The Knights continued their dominating play beating U.C. 20-0.  After a semifinal match against UNI on Wednesday, the finals will likely be Bishop’s vs. Coronado next Saturday.

For this game it was ironic that the University City duo of Trevor Long and Andy Orr scored the first two goals of the game and led the team scoring with 4 goals each.  Other scores for the Knights were Tyler Kandel (3), Julian Arthur (3), Chris Pulido (2), Dylan Matzinger (1), Reid Joseph (1), James Henry (1), and John Kvandal (1).

Another measure of the Knight’s tenacious defense was the shots on goal by U.C.  Through 3 quarters, Justin McCain had only 5 saves and in the 4TH quarter Trey Fleming had 4 saves.  We hope to see a lot more of that same defense next week!
